Crazy weekend!

So many exciting things the past few days!
Yesterday we went to Eilat for snorkeling in the Red Sea. By far one of the coolest things I have ever done. We saw parrot fish, trumpet fish, butterfly fish, and tons of beautiful coral. I could have spent hours just swimming around but unfortunately we only had 40 snorkels for about 90 of us so we took turns. I got a couple of rounds in though and a great burn on only the back half of my body- typical haha. After snorkeling we went to a boardwalk and did some running around there and then back on the bus to get to dinner which included the very much desired free ice cream- yum. After dinner we had a 4 hour bus ride home which after waking up at 5:30 am felt like it took forever. Needless to say we all crashed when we got back to our lovely JC home.
Today was another pretty early/active day. We ended up going to the City of David- basically the original Jerusalem under King David's reign. We walked through Hezekiah's tunnel which was super cool. Wading through the water in a dark cave- I guess it doesn't sound that exciting but it definitely was. Then it was back to the center for lunch- the fruit is finally starting to get ripe here and it is delicious! After lunch and a quick nap we did olive pressing to make olive oil (we picked the olives last week). We put olives into the stone press and pushed it around until the olives were a mush. Then you put the mush in baskets and put them in another press which gets the oil out. You let that juice sit and the oil separates and then you have olive oil! Yay!
Over all it was an awesome past two days!
Pictures to come!
